Danube House
administrative building
Prague 8 - Karlín, 2003
Montaje con la torre Eiffel al fondo.
The Danube House is the first building from the extensive River City Prague project – one of the biggest in Prague with the total area of approximately 120.000 m2 which encompasses 4 office buildings, a hotel and 2 residential buildings. This demanding project includes reconstruction of the underground operation, extensive anti-flood protection, creation of a public park and underground communications.
The first office building (designed in cooperation with the KPF architectural studio from London) was finished in 2003. The building is characterised by its red Chinese sandstone which was used on the façade in combination with grey-black aluminium windows and is unique for its extensive atrium where distinctive constructional elements and technologies were used. The building dominates the emerging building complex on Vltava’s right bank.
